We consulted among our local experts, but also some american brewmasters to make our version of this IPA made in Bavaria. We thought American IPAs are too strong, the dryhopping is the main accent, but you don’t want to drink 2-3 of this style, so we wanted to make a more drinkable version, that gives more balance to the other ingredients at the same time. Many American brewmasters also don’t have access to the knowledge and equipment available in Germany, which is what makes this IPA special besides the localized Bavarian ingredients: expertise and a brewery with many years of experience in making beers. We toned down the use of hops a little bit, which results in less bitter, more drinkable beer and added some German malts so that the result allows for pairing with food such as fish and other light snacks.
MALT: Caramel malt, Pale Ale Malt
HOPS: Chinook, Simco, Dry Hopping with Chinook and Simco, too.
